WPARC Field Day June 27-28, 2015 –
The Western Placer Amateur Radio Club Field Day goal for all involved is FUN and LEARNING. All are welcome! We need ALL HAMs – incl. Tech Class licensees!! Non-HAM guests are also welcome. (With a licensed Control Operator even non-Hams can talk on the radio too!)

Operating the HF Bands on Field Day is really easy. Experienced Hams will be there to help newcomers and old timers operate the HF bands with Extra class HF band privileges, and to use our simple contact exchange, e.g. - “K6PAC, 4 Alpha, Sacramento Valley”. WPARC’s Field Day will be a great opportunity to participate for Hams and non-Hams, regardless of experience or technical ability.
Come on out, join the fun, and “EXPERIENCE” long distance HF and VHF Ham Radio!

Here is the plan:
1. When? – Jun 27, 28, Operating 24 hours from Sat 11AM to Sun 11AM. (Helping set up HF stations 9AM to 11AM on Sat morning is much appreciated and a great learning experience!)
2. Where? – 10mi N of Lincoln at 7145 Superior Town Rd., Lincoln, CA 95648. (Some GPS units have had problems, so Email rbrunnquell@yahoo.com or Cell: 916-768-7532 for directions and the gate combination.) Our area has shade trees, a restroom w/flushing toilet, an outdoor sink, refrigerator, propane grill, and 110V AC power for coffee pots, logging PC’s, fans, hot plates, etc. Our radios will be battery powered - solar panels and/or generators will recharge the batteries.
3. Our club will have 5 or more knowledgeable “Station Captains” – 4 complete HF stations, plus 1 VHF station, with logging PCs. They will help guest Hams (and non-Ham visitors) get on the air and log all contacts. The Station Captains will also help us accommodate guest Hams who want to bring their own radio and/or antenna – just call ahead if you would like to do this so we can plan accordingly.
4. Also planned is a hands-on training class on (TBD) that will be conducted at Field Day on Saturday afternoon, by (TBD).
5. Saturday’s noon lunch will be PB&J, but the 5PM BBQ dinner will be Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, and Baked Beans. (Sun Bkfst TBD) Let us know if you’ll be there and if bringing guests-how many, so we have enough. Bring your favorite drinks, we will have some coolers w/ice.
6. Bring a chair, notepad, pen or pencil. (The sun sets about 8:30PM with twilight until 9PM, so have a flashlight if staying past 9PM, and camping gear if staying overnight.)

Please tell us when you would like to be there and if your staying overnight:
Can you help set up Saturday morning before 11AM?
Will you be able to stay the full Field Day Sat & Sun, or just Saturday, or just a few hours? (Operating late at night or early morning is a great field day tradition with a chance for DX)
Will you be coming to the 5PM BBQ? Bringing guests?
Can you help break down Sunday around 10AM? (It will be much appreciated as we are pretty tired by then.)

Tell us if you can bring any of the following items:
12 V. deep cycle battery? Generator? Solar Panels?
Portable table? Chairs? Pop-up sun shelter? How many of each?

Please tell us if you’re coming – (When? How long? Guests?). Email your contact information to: rbrunnquell@yahoo.com Cell: 916-768-7532 (draft 6-25, ver. 8)
